TiVo Video Trends Report: Finding Balance During the Great Rebundling |
TiVo’s Q4 2021 Video Trends Report analyzes consumer data from more than 4,500 viewers surveyed in the U.S. and Canada.
Some key findings:

The average number of services among survey respondents was 8.9. On average, pay-TV subscribers utilize 9.7 different services, while broadband-only subscribers use 6.7 different services.

Among pay-TV subscribers, the average bill (bundled with broadband) was $124.40 per month (an 11% increase over the previous six months).

Consumers have an average of 3.5 SVOD streaming subscriptions, paying an average of $42.03 per month; 25% of these respondents said they were likely to cancel one or more service in the next six months.

Only 20% of respondents said that they would “prefer” to pay $30 to stream a new release movie at home versus going to the theater (an 11% decrease year-over-year), however only 46% of respondents said they’d be comfortable going to the theater, due to COVID.

TVs were the screen of choice for 72% of pay-TV viewing time, 66% of SVOD viewing time, 59% of AVOD viewing time and 49% for vMVPD viewing time.
